What is BDC in SAP ABAP?

BDC stands for Batch Data Communication in SAP ABAP. The BDC program is used to transfer data from legacy systems to SAP. There are two types of methods used to transfer data from legacy systems to SAP. The first one is the Classical Batch Input method and the second one is Call Transaction method.
