Provisional serial numbers only allowed for types SNLN and SNBF

What causes this issue?

Temporary serial numbers are only generated for serial number
requirement at warehouse-number-level and in inventory management, in
goods recept posting.
For goods receipt with products that have serial number requirement for
document items, you must specify serial numbers completely, if you have
define the serial number requirement for the delivery item type in
Customizing.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
