No active version exists, no version created

What causes this issue?

You chose the function <LS>Generate version</>. The system then
attempted to save a copy of the active object &V1& &V2& as a temporary
version in the version database. However, the object &V1& &V2& is not
currently active.

System Response

No version is created.

How to fix this error?

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
