Setup activity in operation &1 has relationships to preceding activities

What causes this issue?

The setup activity must always be the first activity in the operation
for the sequence-dependent setup. It may not be related to previous
activities. This is not the case here.

System Response

The production process model cannot be activated. Orders for in-house
production cannot be be created using this production process model.

How to fix this error?

Set the indicator for a sequence-dependent setup activity for the first
activity of an operation only. Do not define relationships for
activities from previous operations.


Note
These restrictions are only valid for sequence-dependent setups. You
can define the relationships according to your own requirements for
sequence-independent setups (the duration of the setup activity is
independent from the setup status of the resource).


Note
The 'Setup activity' indicator should not be set for
sequence-independent setups in the production process model.
Sequence-independent setup activities are distinguished exclusively by
the type of activity from production activities.


Note
If there are operations using setup activity R in the PPM that precede
operation V, which is examined here, then you can define a relationship
from the last activity of the preceding operation for the activity
directly after setup activity R. The system continuously assigns the
main resource between activities of an operation. You may not enter an
activity from a different operation between setup activity R and its
subsequent activity. The system thereby ensures that setup activity R
is planned after the last activity of the preceding operation, if the
preceding activity and operation V both exist in the same main
resource.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
