Message text: The coordinates of location(s) &1, &2 are 0 , 0
What causes this issue?
The geo-coordinates of one or both locations are 0, 0.
This happens, for example, in the following cases:
You create a new location of type <ZK>transportation zone</> in SAP TM,
with the corresponding transaction <ZK>Define Transportation Zone</>. In
this case, the location object is always created without an address and
with zero geo-coordinates.
You create a new location with an address, but the connection to the
assigned geo-coding service that calculates the geo-coordinates of the
location from the specified address is interrupted.
If only the coordinates of the source or of the destination locations
are 0, 0, this might result in invalid distance and duration
calculations in the relevant transportation lane (although in theory it
is possible that the real geo-coordinates of a location are 0, 0, which
means it is somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean near Africa, for example an
oil rig...).
If the coordinates of both locations are 0, 0, distance and duration
calculation returns 0 value for both distance and duration.
System Response
Invalid or inappropriate values are calculated.
How to fix this error?
Change the coordinates in the transaction for location maintenance. You
can enter valid coordinates manually or you can enter an address and the
system determines the coordinates automatically.
For transportation zones created in SAP TM or SAP EWM, execution of a
dedicated transaction is needed - <ZK>Calculate Transp. Zone Coordinates
</> - to calculate valid geo-coordinates.
Procedure for System Administrators
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
