Caution: Change to time zone will also change resource time zones

Message type: E = Error

Message class: /SAPAPO/LOM - Location: Message Class

Message number: 052

Message text: Caution: Change to time zone will also change resource time zones

What causes this issue?

You have changed the time zone at the location. If the <ZK>liveCache</>
is available, the system will automatically adjust the time zones and
the available capacity of all the resources used at this location to
the new time zone of the location. Orders existing in the <ZK>liveCache
</> that were created in the old time zone remain in the old time zone,
however. This means that although the master data is moved into the new
time zone, the transaction data remains in the old one.
For planning with the <ZK>Supply Network Planning (SNP)</> facility,
the consequence is that orders and their resource load are assigned to
the wrong dates and times in the new time zone.
Examples:
An order that loaded a resource by 100% on one day in the old time zone
loads the resource on two days in the new time zone (UTC: 100% ->
BRAZIL: 1st day 30%, 2nd day 70%).
An order that was scheduled for Monday 0:00 hrs in the old time zone
(e.g. UTC) moves to Sunday, 23:00 hrs in the new time zone (e.g.
UTC-1).

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Check all orders for the associated location products and carry out a
new planning run if necessary. You may also have to regenerate the
requirements for <ZK>Supply Network Planning</> (for example, by
re-releasing a forecast from demand planning to SNP).
When you have converted the time zone from UTC to a local time zone
(e.g. CET), you must also set the <LS>Local Time Zone</> indicator for
<ZK>Supply Network Planning</> in the planning versions that are linked
to this location.

Procedure for System Administrators

If the <ZK>liveCache</> is not available, you must adjust available
capacity to the new time zone of the location manually using
transaction /SAPAPO/REST02 by saving the relevant resources again.

&NOTE&
Planning and production orders from SAP R/3 are transferred to SAP APO
in accordance with the time zone of the SAP R/3 plant. If you change
the time zone of the SAP R/3 plant in addition to the time zone of the
SAP APO location, you must carry out a new initial transfer of the
master and transaction data.
