Not able to activate article hierarchy &

What causes this issue?

One of the following situations has occurred:
You tried to activate a subtree of the material hierarchy, however, the
system always activates the entire material hierarchy
The material hierarchy you want to activate has more then ten levels,
however, the BW update supports a maximum of ten levels.

How to fix this error?

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
