Merge area for bitmaps is too small (& < & MByte)

What causes this issue?

An ORACLE system parameter is incorrectly set.

How to fix this error?

Please insert the following line in the ORACLE initialization file
'init<SID>.ora' (where <SID> is the name of your database):
bitmap_merge_area_size=33554432
