Problem with device type in output device &1

What causes this issue?

An error occurred when checking the output device. Possible reasons:
- The character set of the output device is invalid.
- The definition of the output device in tables TSP03, TSP03C, and
TSP03D is inconsistent, for example in table TSP03 the field PATYPE is
empty.
This error is usually caused by changes made in spool tables by non-SAP
programs.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Correct the definition of the output device.
