No SD document is assigned to the object

What causes this issue?

The system could not determine a sales and distribution document item
assigned to the object.

System Response

Only the master data characteristics for the object are copied to the
settlement rule in the profitability segment.

How to fix this error?

Check the SD document item assignments.
