Internal error when closing old meter

What causes this issue?

When trying to close the meter with sequence number &V3& for business
location &V1& and business type &V2&, an error occured. The entry was
not found.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?
