What causes this issue?

When choosing a unit of measure in which the stock data is to be
displayed, it only makes sense to choose from the units of measure
defined for the material. For this reason, you must first enter a
material before calling up the possible entries (F4 help).

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Enter a material on the selection screen in the stock overview. Then
call up the possible entries again to choose from a defined unit of
display.
