Number range &1 for object &2 not created

What causes this issue?

The <GL:number_range>number range</> &V1& for the document number you
have entered is not defined for purchasing documents.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Contact your system administrator so that he or she can create the
number range.
