What causes this issue?

The profit center was saved in inactive status.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

For the changes you have made to be used in the productive system, you
must activate the profit center.
Depending on the status of the profit center, activation can have the
following consequences:
Status "Inactive: Create": activation creates the profit center in
active status and allow it to receive postings
Status "Inactive: Change": activation makes the changes active
Status "Inactive: Delete": activation deletes the profit center from
the productive system
You can set the type for this message in Customizing for Profit Center
Accounting (Tools -> Change Message Control).
