What causes this issue?

The item entered as the higher-level item for sales order item &V2&
does not exist in the system. It is not possible to summarize the
relevant data in order to carry out results analysis for item &V1&.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
