System error: Area values missing in periodic settlement

What causes this issue?

An error has occurred during the periodic settlement of capital
investement measures.
The values accrued for a line item were not found in internal table AI.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
