What causes this issue?

The <GL:controlling_area>controlling area</> for the
<GL:company_code>company code</> cannot be determined.

How to fix this error?

Check if you have represented the structures of your organization
correctly in the system. This can occur, for example, if you have not
completely maintained the allocation of plants to company codes,
company codes to <GL:company>companies</> or company codes to
controlling areas. Check menu option "Organization" in
your configuration menu.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
