Inconsistent where-applied indicator &2 of item &1

What causes this issue?

The item &V1& is assigned to several totals items, whose where-applied
indicator (assets, liabilities and equity, income statement) is
different. However the where-applied indicator of an item must be
unique (at present "&V2&").

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Correct the item assignment in the hierarchy.
