Settings for profitability segment characteristics will be deleted

What causes this issue?

You are switching on account-based CO-PA. If you save, the settings for
profitability segment characteristics will be deleted. These settings
are only appropriate for costing-based CO-PA and cannot be used in
account-based CO-PA.
If you have defined any restrictions for characteristics that exclude
these characteristics for use by a particular profitability segment,
this restriction is removed when you save. As a result, each
profitability segment will contain all available characteristics, which
is the default in SAP Accounting powered by SAP HANA.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

If summarization is nevertheless unavoidable due to the expected data
volume, the new summarization in SAP Accounting powered by SAP HANA in
transaction KEQ7 (SAP Customizing Implementation Guide -> Controlling ->
Profitability Analysis -> Flows of Actual Values -> Initial Steps ->
Summarization -> Summarization of Account-Based Line Items and
Profitability Segments) can be utilized. Note that this summarization no
longer depends on the type of CO-PA activated.
