What causes this issue?

The period assignment for fiscal year variant &V1& cannot be displayed
or maintained yet because the defining properties of the fiscal year
variant have not yet been saved.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Save the data entered and then maintain the period assignment.
