What causes this issue?

The Editor has written the current version of the source code and the
differences between it and the previous version ('backwards delta') to
the version database.
You can display versions at any time by choosing
Utilities -> Version management.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
