Segment & cannot be included in view

What causes this issue?

Selecting segment &v1& leads to a syntax error in the IDoc type. A
segment cannot be included in the view if the superior segment is not
also included in the view.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
