What causes this issue?

The system tried to read the IDoc segment '&v1&' for Basis release '
&v2&' and application release '&v3&'.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

The segment '&v1&' is not recognized in Basis release '&v2&' with
application release '&v3&'.

How to fix this error?
