Formula results in quantity of zero; results are not transferred to BOM

What causes this issue?

In <DS:GLOS.3526C523AFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>material quantity
calculation</>, a formula has been defined at a
<DS:GLOS.3526C3FEAFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>BOM component</>. The result
of this formula is a quantity of zero. However, null values must not be
transferred to the <DS:GLOS.3526C3F9AFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>bill of
material</> (BOM). For this reason, none of the results is transferred.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
