The material number is longer than the length set

What causes this issue?

The material number &V1& exceeds the length of &V2& characters
currently defined for material numbers in Customizing.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Either enter a shorter material number or ask your system administrator
to increase the allowed length of material numbers in your system.


Information for system administrators
You define the length of material numbers in Customizing for the
<LS>Material Master</>. The maximum length allowed is 18 characters.
