Account assignment not possible (Asset not assigned to a business area)

What causes this issue?

You are posting to asset &v2& &v3&, which is not assigned to a business
area. However, in company code &v1&, in which you are posting, the
indicator for "business area balance sheet" is set.

System Response

It is not possible to post to the asset.

How to fix this error?

Do one of the following:
Enter a business area in the master data of the asset.
Post to a different asset.
Change the indicator for "business area balance sheets" for the company
code (transaction OBY6).
