Maximum number of profiles for user & exceeded

What causes this issue?

You have exceeded the technical limit for the number of profiles per
user. You cannot enter more than 312 profiles in one user master record.
Note that both manual profiles and profiles generated from roles are
included in the calculation. There is <ZH>at least</> one profile for a
role.

System Response

Changes are not applied.

How to fix this error?

Reduce your new assignment until you have reached or moved below the
maximum number of 312 profiles per user.
Check whether you require all profiles in this master record
You may be able to combine:
Multiple small roles into one role
Suitable groups of manual profiles to composite profiles

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

Alternatively, you can switch to a reference user concept, in which
users with the same authorizations inherit these from a reference user,
meaning that these do not have to be stored separately in each user
master record.
